Policy Statement

The Dharmaputra Medical Law Journal (DMLJ) is committed to the long-term digital preservation of all published scholarly content. DMLJ recognises that ensuring perpetual, uninterrupted access to the scientific record is a core responsibility of any reputable journal.

To this end, DMLJ participates in multiple redundant digital preservation systems, ensuring that published articles remain accessible regardless of technological changes, institutional transitions, or journal operational status.

Digital Preservation Systems

PKP Private LOCKSS Network (PKP PN)

PRIMARY

The default preservation network for OJS journals. Maintains distributed encrypted copies across participating library nodes worldwide.

LOCKSS

DISTRIBUTED PRESERVATION

Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe. A peer-to-peer digital preservation programme operated by participating research libraries globally.

CLOCKSS

TRIGGERED ON CESSATION

Controlled LOCKSS: archive content is triggered open access if the journal permanently ceases publication, ensuring perpetual public access.

Internet Archive (Wayback Machine)

SUPPLEMENTARY

Regular web crawls by archive.org provide an additional publicly accessible backup of the DMLJ website and article pages.

What Is Archived

The following content is archived across DMLJ's preservation networks:

All article full texts (PDF and HTML)

Bibliographic metadata and abstracts

Supplementary files and datasets

Issue cover pages and tables of contents

Editorial notices and announcements

Retraction and correction notices

Access on Cessation

Perpetual Access Guarantee

In the event that DMLJ permanently ceases publication — for any reason — the CLOCKSS archive will automatically trigger open access to all archived content. This ensures that every article ever published by DMLJ will remain permanently and freely accessible to the global research community, indefinitely.

Self-Archiving by Authors

Authors are actively encouraged to deposit the published Version of Record (VoR) PDF in their institutional repositories, subject repositories (such as Zenodo or Garuda), and personal academic profile pages, under the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license.

There is no embargo period. The published PDF may be deposited and publicly shared immediately upon online publication. Authors should include the DOI link and cite DMLJ as the original publication venue.
