Overview
DMLJ operates as a Diamond Open Access journal, meaning content is freely available to all readers at no cost and without charge to authors. Authors publishing in DMLJ retain full copyright over their work. All published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which governs how others may use, share, and adapt the content.
Authors Retain Copyright
Authors submitting to DMLJ retain copyright over their manuscripts and published articles. By submitting to DMLJ, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, reproduce, distribute, and publicly display the work in all formats and media, including electronic, digital, and print. This license does not transfer copyright ownership to the journal or publisher.
Moral Rights: Authors retain their moral rights under applicable law, including the right to be identified as the author of the work and the right to object to derogatory treatment of the work.

All articles published in DMLJ are made available under CC BY 4.0. This license permits anyone to:

Sole Condition: Attribution

How to Cite DMLJ Articles
When citing an article published in DMLJ, the following elements must be included to satisfy the attribution requirement of CC BY 4.0:

Third-Party Content in Submissions
Where a submitted manuscript incorporates material (text, figures, tables, images, data, or other content) owned by a third party and not covered by an open license, it is the responsibility of the submitting authors to:
- Obtain written permission from the rights holder prior to submission.
- Disclose the source and confirm permission status in the manuscript or cover letter.
- Ensure that any permissions obtained are compatible with CC BY 4.0 redistribution requirements.
DMLJ accepts no liability for the unauthorized use of third-party material in submitted manuscripts. Authors who include third-party content without obtaining appropriate permissions do so at their own risk and indemnify DMLJ and its publisher against any resulting claims.
Open Access & Self-Archiving Rights
As Diamond Open Access, DMLJ does not charge authors article processing charges (APCs) and does not charge readers for access. Authors are explicitly permitted and encouraged to:
- Deposit the final published version (version of record) of their article in any institutional, national, or subject repository (e.g., PubMed Central, Zenodo, SINTA repository) immediately upon publication.
- Post the article on personal or institutional websites.
- Share the article freely via academic social networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu).
- Distribute printed copies to colleagues and students.
When self-archiving, authors should include a statement that the work was originally published in DMLJ and provide a link to the article's DOI or the journal website at https://dmedlaw.org.
DMLJ Name & Logo
The DMLJ name, journal title ("Dharmaputra Medical Law Journal" and "Jurnal Dharmaputra Hukum Kesehatan"), ISSN numbers, and any logos or graphical marks associated with the journal are the property of the publisher, RSUD Wangaya, Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. Use of these marks for any purpose other than accurate attribution and identification of DMLJ as the publication source requires prior written consent from the publisher.
