About These Templates
DMLJ provides official Microsoft Word templates for each article type to help authors prepare their manuscripts in the correct format from the outset. Using these templates reduces the likelihood of formatting-related rejection at the editorial screening stage.
Templates will be made available for direct download from the DMLJ OJS platform at dmedlaw.org. In the meantime, authors may request any template by email using the buttons below — the editorial office will respond within 2 business days.
All templates are provided in .docx format and are compatible with Microsoft Word 2016 and later, as well as LibreOffice Writer and Google Docs (with minor formatting variations).

Template Usage Guidelines
Use the Template as Provided
Open the template and type directly into the placeholder areas. Do not copy-paste your manuscript into a blank document — the template has pre-set paragraph styles and formatting that must be preserved.
Do Not Alter Margins or Fonts
Page margins (2.5 cm all sides), font (Times New Roman 12pt), and line spacing (double) must not be changed. Manuscripts submitted in non-standard formatting will be returned for correction before they enter review.
Remove All Instruction Text
All grey or italicised placeholder and guidance text in the template must be removed before submission. Check your final document carefully to ensure no template instructions remain in the submitted file.
Anonymise the Manuscript File
The manuscript file (not the title page) must be anonymised for double-blind review. Remove all author names, institutional affiliations, and any self-identifying citations or acknowledgements before uploading this file to OJS.
Enable Line Numbering
Before saving your final manuscript, ensure continuous line numbering is active throughout the document. In Microsoft Word: Layout > Line Numbers > Continuous. This is required for reviewer comments to reference specific lines.
Check Document Properties
Before submitting, clear author-identifying metadata from the file. In Word: File > Info > Check for Issues > Inspect Document, and remove personal information and document properties so the file cannot be traced to a named author.
Templates Coming to OJS
All templates will shortly be available for direct download from the journal's OJS platform under the Author Guidelines section. Until they appear there, please request them by email using the buttons above. The editorial office responds within 2 business days.
